GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I have only been going to this school for the first semester of junior year but it's been great. My teachers have been really helpful to me and my academics. The administration has always been nice and I've never had a problem with anyone. My counselor who is my favorite administrator has been super helpful since I got here and has been helping me prepare for college. The school offers dual enrollment and free ACT and SAT tests for students. I also really like the 4 classes a day since I am used to 7 a day it feels slightly easier that I will only have 4 classes to focus on for homework and not 7.

the students and condition of the school are absolutely horrible. The teachers only engage and care in honors and AP classes because students are so horrid that caring can be taken as hatred or a prompt to fight. Many good teachers left due to frustration and poor treatment by students and the lack of a caring administration to back them up or even to punish. Once a student attempted to poison a teacher and only got 3 days of OSS.

Even when coupled with the "Scholars Academy", less then 60% of students pass the graduation test. They are in their 5th year of "school improvement" which means if they don't make AYP this year, the state could come in and take them over. Fortunately, the newspaper would never thing to publish anyt...

I think there's a lot of room for improvement and everyone likes to get behind the underdog... so it's all uphill from where the school is today to where it's going tomorrow.

Well I was once a student there at ths and loved it and it hasnt changed much but the teachers are very involved with the kids. I would persuade you to send your child and let anyone else you know about ths. They have one on one time eith you unlike tcchs.
