GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I have loved my experience at Thousand Oaks High School. I have liked almost all of my teachers and enjoyed all of my classes throughout my high school career. I would like to see students take greater care of their campus, however, as sometimes there is trash laying around at lunch time.

If you want to graduate high school with sanity intact, do not partake in The Center for Advanced Studies and research. Also the campus is not aesthetically pleasing to look at. Overall a good school with many academic opportunities, both for those interested in college or not.

Thousand Oaks High School has lackluster teachers, poor academics and rude administration. The most important thing to them to have kids in seats to receive state funding. Both my children failed to receive guidance, support or advice in academics or personal growth. A few teachers and admin are doing their best to reach the children that actually want to learn.

I toured other schools in the area looking for the best academics and Thousand Oaks High School stood out so we school choiced our daughter here. The two programs that stand out are Ethos, if she wants to be an entrepreneur, and The Center, which is only for the brightest of the bright. She is proba...

The teachers are outstanding, the counselors make you feel cared for and they are very attentive to any problem whether it is bullying, course trouble, or even course work. I would strongly recommend it.

I've spent two years as a student here, absolutely wonderful staff and teachers. I'm not just exited to do higher level classes, I'm encouraged to do so by the wonderful teachers on campus. I know I can always talk to the counselors if need be, as they are very understanding and cooperative. But, I...

My son is going to be a senior and he’s so happy to be back toIn-person learning. Even though school wasn’t the same because of the pandemic, his teachers did their best to make learning interesting and engaging. He is in all Advanced Placement classes, which wasn’t ideal, but his teachers prepared...
