The students and staff at Tucker’s Idlewood Elementary School are focused on developing the total child, both academically and socially. The school’s creed begins and ends with “Today I will do my best to be my best,” encouraging its nearly 900 pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students to participate, learn and grow. In addition to a full academic program, Idlewood rounds out children’s development with a broad range of activities including chess club, Read Across America Day, robotics, character education lessons and Black History Bowl. They can learn a love for the arts with chorus, band and strings. There are also activities to develop stronger bodies, such as Jump Rope for Life and field day. Families can get involved with the school through Family Make and Take Nights for Reading and Math, a Father/Daughter Dance and Grandparents’ Day. Idlewood Elementary School makes learning fun, with highly qualified teachers who encourage their students to be their best every day. Part of the Dekalb County School System, Idlewood graduates advance to Tucker Middle School for sixth through eighth grades before finishing their high school careers at Tucker High School.

They are not friendly ladies, no communication other than unlimited text and email harassment, teacher barely communicates ( I don't know about all the teachers ) special education you may sign them up but nothing will happen and no correspondence if you call to inquire you are treated like a pest....

I wish I could give zero stars. My daughter was sexually assaulted by a boy here in third grade on the bus. It was reported to two principals, the bus driver and I was ensured his parents were told and they apparently were not until over six months later. The same boy showed up at my home when my ch...
