Opened in 1998, AmeriSchools Academy Tucson is a tuition-free public charter school serving more than 150 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. As a sister school to several AmeriSchools in Arizona, the academy follows a common vision to inspire and motivate students to become active leaders in their communities.
Here, students learn in multi-age groups through skill-based instruction that broadens their awareness and sense of belonging. With a low student-to-teacher ratio in classes, all students receive more one-on-one attention to help them learn at their own pace. The academy also extends learning into real-world experiences on field trips to the Grand Canyon, San Diego Wildlife Refuge and Catalina Island, just to name a few.
As for extracurriculars, students can find age-appropriate activities including cooking club, elementary cross country, drama, Wii Gaming Club, Reader’s Theater and chess club, among many others. Additionally, more active students can compete in several team sports ranging from flag football and soccer to basketball and cross country.
If students’ caregivers would like more flexible schedules, the academy offers before- and after-school programs for all grade levels. In and out of the classroom, AmeriSchools Academy Tucson helps students grow every day.
