Centered in Hoover neighborhood is the beautiful campus of Hoover Elementary School. This public institution focuses on empowering children from pre-Kindergarten to fifth grade to be leaders in their academic and personal lives. Hoover Elementary is a distinguished Leader in Me Lighthouse School, the only one in the Tulsa Public Schools district. Hoover Elementary utilizes the Leader in Me model to teach students about the influence of their actions and to cultivate a strong support system for them.
Fostering a supportive community is another important aspect of learning at Hoover. Students have the opportunity to work with others across grade levels. During weekly meetings, each grade also has the opportunity to present to their peers.
Hoover strives to provide students with a well-rounded education. Students can engage in complex hands-on learning activities in the school’s very own STEM center. Hoover also provides after-school care where students can receive help with homework assignments and interact in fun activities with others. Extra-curricular clubs include chess club, Spanish club and more. Hoover also partners with Ren He Jie, a primary school in China. Every fall, students participating in Hoover’s China Club have the opportunity to visit Ren He Jie. Hoover is the only elementary school in the state to have such a program.

We were excited to send our son to Hoover, in the autism program. But that excitement quickly faxed when he began coming home with bruises and finger print marks from being grabbed and treated roughly. I walked up to the classroom and heard my son being yelled at more than once. My child is non verb...

My grandson is in Mr. Foremans class and he is an amazing teacher! We fought to keep him this year and that was the best thing TPS could have done!! He has taught my grandson all the things a kindergartners should know then some! I am praying my younger grandson is in his class next year!!!
