The School of Saint Mary is a private, fully accredited school serving Pre-K through eight grade located just east of Brookside. Affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Mary, the school currently has a student body of 335 students with a 15:1 student-teacher ratio. Students are eligible to apply for admission as long as they are five years old before Sept. 1 of that school year.
The school was started in 1954 by the Order of the Felician Sisters. The first version of the school was completed in 1957, consisting of a two-story building with nine classrooms. By 1960, Saint Mary had their first ever eighth grade graduation.
Today the school contains offices, a church, preschool, a kindergarten center, library, music room, and media center. The outside of the school is modern and surrounded by nice trees and greenery, with outdoor space for children to play.
In addition to a focus on academic excellence, The School of Saint Mary provides art, music, and physical education along with foreign language and after-school programs. Many students go on to attend Bishop Kelley High School, one of Tulsa’s finest private high schools—four out of five of Bishop Kelley’s most recent valedictorians graduated from the School of Saint Mary.
Students consistently exhibit academic excellence, many of them going on to become National Merit top scorers. The Saint Mary student body routinely ranks at or above the 95th percentile nationally in math, science, reading, language arts, and social studies. With personalized instruction and a focus on multifaceted learning, students at The School of Saint Mary are prepared to become well-rounded and successful individuals.

Remarkable! All three of my children have scored nearly two grade levels above their public school counterparts. When my daughter graduated 8th grade she was at a HS sophomore level in reading and math.

St. Mary is a great place. My son loves it and we love it too. It is nurturing, but at the same time is challenging and organized. Most of the teachers have been there for no less than 10 years and they are wonderful people.

Great Catholic school. The school teaches a grade above at every level and Spanish is required. Children are consistently very well-prepared for high school.
