GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Something I would like to change is to have more sports like football for girls and boys, more activities to do out of school, food changes.

I graduated 10 years ago, so this may be outdated. When I attended, the academics were excellent. It's a small school so it might have less options, but the ones they do offer are excellent. The teachers are excellent and caring. I felt very prepared to enter college.

I went to school before the Greenwood Lake/Tuxedo split. However, during my time there I found a a great many activites to participate it. I did the play and the musical all three years I attended. Rehersals were long and a lot was expected of us, but i enjoyed every minute of it and made some of the best friends of my life. I wasn't on the tech crew, but many of my friends were, and they practically lived in the balcony; tech was a cult, but I mean that in the best way possible. Safe School Ambassadors was a big thing, though I wasn't part of it. Since the school is so small and it's easy to get to know teachers personally, starting up new clubs isn't difficult, though getting enough people to show up is.

Administration is secretive. Kids hate the school. The education is subpar. The school is getting smaller and smaller as families leave for private where there is more offered. Great schools shows 130 kids grades 9-12. That number is 7-12. Grades 9-12 has about 80 and will have less than that next y...

Great small school. Supportive learning environment, solid program. Inclusion of STEM is fantastic. Have two happy kids in attendance.

Updated 2015 - High School lost 80% of its student population when neighboring town that tuitioned in their students pulled out. There are now only 75 kids TOTAL in grades 9-12. No choices, school like a ghost town. Academics poor, social atmosphere even worse.

Both of my children attended and graduated from George F Baker High School. They received a wonderful all around educational experience. The teachers, administration and support staff know the students, communicate with the parents and guide the students through their high school years. I often felt...
