First Baptist Academy of Universal City was founded by the First Baptist Church in 1979. In 2022, the school served more than 400 students from pre-K through 12th grade.
Located at 1401 Pat Booker Road on the far northeast side of San Antonio, First Baptist Academy is a private, Christian school. The school provides college prep classes, and can also prepare upper-level students for ministry.
The school offers rigorous academic programs Students can participate in extracurricular activities such as choir, band, spirit squad, athletics, Spanish, technology, art and theater.
First Baptist Academy requires a submitted application with fee, entrance exam and student interview. Though the admission process is stringent, graduates of First Baptist Academy are well-positioned for academic success. The school boasts a 100% graduation rate and 96% of graduates go on to attend state, out-of-state and international universities.

I was able to complete a lot of college classes at this school while in high school. However, the curriculum is old, and only some of the teachers are good at teaching.

This is a great school . It is academically challenging and offers duel credit classes in high school. The teachers are kind. All three of my kids have really liked the school.

I love teaching at FBA! It is so neat to have former students come back and let us know how well they were prepared for college and jobs by being challenged here at our school. We are a family here at FBA and help each other when there is a need. The name of Jesus Christ is lifted up in chapel each week and everyday in the classrooms.

Teachers and principal don’t know how to work with young children or child development and lack understanding of behavior modification in the classroom to encourage positive experiences and tank kids self esteem

I love the school. My three children have gone there and have loved it. My oldest was able to graduate with many duel credit hours and tools that are helping her succeed in college. My son will be graduating this year from FBA.

I have taught at this school for more than 20 years and have found it to be an authentic Christian school that teaches the students about God's Word and how much He loves them and wants them to follow Him throughout their lives. The curriculum is challenging and above grade level, but accommodations...
