It's a good school with some amazing teachers, but a high teacher turnover rate for some. There is a wide variety of classes that you can take.

Urbana High School was a very interesting experience. I was starting from freshman year all the way to senior year. Going through covid in high school was a hard time for me since I am a hands-on learner. Having to adapt to learning on my own and having to advocate for myself. It was hard to learn at a young age. Having help from some teachers made it better but for some teachers that didn't help as much made it really hard to maintain those grades. Coming back from covid into the school year was very different. The school did have many different perceptions when being in the building and being at school with all those changes was weird. The school did what it could and it could have been better prepared to help students succeed more and be the best they could be. Overal my high school experience at Urbana High School was mid but I made it which is the most important part.

The school was very diverse within its students as well as its staff members. I liked that the separation of popularity was almost non-existent. My experience at the high school taught me how to be communicative, open-minded/welcoming, and how to be a team player with those I knew or didn't.

My second child to attend the UHS/UMS schools is a sr this year. Our experience over the past 8 plus years has been far from positive. Our oldest has gone on to do well but I would say it was in spite of his experience at UHS. It is disappointing to see people focus on diversity and inclusivity when...

My son did amazing at Urbana. He was completely prepared for college and he had great teachers who became true mentors. There is more good in this school than what appears at times. The theatre program is awesome and they have great administration.

UHS is a very diverse school. I think this is a huge asset for developing a whole person. My kids are in advanced classes and are challenged, supported, and encouraged. The administrators, especially their counselors, really care about helping my kids achieve. The facilities are well cared for, and...

Very poor...once our son graduated, our daughter moved to Catholic School...no gangs, diversity pounded into students, and over 90% go on to college. This public school is pitiful.
