What I love about Vail Mountain School is how much time and attention the staff spends building relationships with each and every student. Here, students are seen, heard, and valued. From camping to community service to the classroom, students have many opportunities to discover who they are and how they want to contribute.

Awful. My child was in a very cliquey grade. Classes are too small for that. Academics were mediocre at best and only certain kids based on nothing but nepotism got individual attention. You must pay to get on the board and you must be on the board, or be a faculty member, if you want your kid to get attention from teachers or win awards (check last year's end of year awards). When we transferred to a new school my child had to take 3 classes in their previous grade because VMS's curriculum was behind. I can honestly say not one of my child's teachers knew them or was invested in their success, not one.

VMS has changed and not for the better. Academics are subpar. Graduates don’t matriculate to major colleges. VMS has always been able to attract talented teachers because of location.
