GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall, South Ripley High School is a great place for students and teachers. There are opportunities for the standard sports of Cross Country, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming (no pool on campus), Baseball, Softball, and Track/Field. The teachers are actively participating as coaches or club directors. The school is also well supported by the community.

The best thing I have at the South Ripley is the student teacher connection that is experienced at the school. With there being at most 30 students and at least 10 there is a fluctuating number of how well students connect with their teachers. As for me I have loved all the teachers this far, there is only one I would go as far as saying "disliked." Those who choose to go to South Ripley will surely understand the impression of the small town school as soon as they arrive. 90% of the school is welcoming and there is barely any bullying or instances where two students had a negative impact with each other. With being a small school everyone knows everyone and if you were to join I'm sure you'd soon know everyone as well. The worst thing I had at this school was maybe their lunch, I would personally rate it a 4.5-6/10, 4.5 being their worst (I am personally a vegetarian and they really just offer one item for you as well as serve meat almost daily.) Overall I am personally very happy..

The school is unnecessarily strict to the point where it almost feels like a prison. They just don't handle discipline and rules correctly.

Bullying is an issue here. The parents of the bullies are lied to about the real reason their bully child was called into question. Rarely is the bully punished, or even reprimanded. The bully walks away thinking it was all a joke. Then rumors within the community start making it even harder for the...

I have several children in this school since 1998 to present and have dealt with multiple instances of bullying. The staff and admins punish the victim as much if not more than the bully when they try to protect themselves, and offer NO solutions. They ignore the problems and brush everything under...

This school has come a long way in the last 5 years and my kids receive a quality education from South Ripley. The great schools ranking is way too low. At least a 6-7/10 on the low side.

South Ripley High School has made another leap forward in academic achievement. It has continued to improve from year to year and has added quite a bit of academic programing and technology since 2009. The completion of a $20 million dollar building program has given this small rural school corporat...
