Oakcrest takes academics and student life very seriously. Although the classes are very challenging, it will prepare students very well for college and life beyond high school. I have seen many students struggle with the stress of work, but there are many resources and kind people at this school to help support everyone. The only issue I have with this school is that it is lacking a lot in diversity. There are not a lot of people of color or noncatholics.

Its a good school but if you have a learning disability or even if your a average b student its not good enough here. Theres absolutely no diversity and being catholic is constantly shoved down your throat. If you one day you decide your just going through something and briefly question your faith you will be called a sinner and constantly forced to repent. The resources for LD are not given and you will be just told its your fault that you have trouble learning. Here everyone is forced to be the same and if you wanna be a copy of everyone else there then its the right place for you.

Oakcrest teaches homophobia and racism and encourages ultra-conservative views. There is no sense of support or love for anyone different than white catholic students.

I don’t even know where to start. The curriculum is very biased and patriarchal. Teachers omitted important history like the stonewall riots, trail of tears and big figures from civil rights. I had a teacher refer to the civil war as the war of northern aggression. I had another teacher tell me that...

Ironically, for an all-girls school that claims female independence and empowerment—Oakcrest is an extremely patriarchal environment that discourages freedom of thought, questioning or differing beliefs. It is an ultra-conservative environment—if you lean middle of the road or liberal, your daughter...

My two girls are being challenged daily to grow into strong and capable young women, to grow in confidence and in compassion towards others. Excellent academics, reasonable sports opportunity for a small school, and phenomenal teachers.

I learned what kind of Catholic I do not want to be, and I am extra careful to be tolerant and accepting, as Oakcrest showed me that clearly not everyone else is.
