It provides a good education by requiring work to be done on time and it has very good classes that are useful in everyday life like personal finance and courses that prepare you for college. The school needs to be bigger because there are some opportunities that are missed in terms of sports and extra-curricular activities. It doesn't have football or swimming and its campus is too small to do them. It needs a better art program.

I've enjoyed the arts classes. The high school has a very good band and visual arts program, I also am very grateful for the access to technology that students are given. However, I find the teaching style to be mundane and hard to absorb. Core subjects are taught through slideshows and lectures and there is heavy emphasis on memorization. While I fully acknowledge that these methods are sometimes necessary, I don't think that they should be exclusively used. I wish that the teachers would experiment with other methods of instructing their classes and accommodate different learning styles. I think that a less rigidly structured learning environment would increase engagement and improve student's overall retention. I also think that there is a lot of potential for courses to overlap and compliment each other. I believe that making connections across two different areas of study would help students better absorb content and see first hand examples of how the topic is applicable.

Franklin academy is well rounded prestigious public charter school. The academics and social community are tight knit. However, the school provides a well balanced prep ready education for future endeavors.

Special education is stronger in the lower grades. As students move up in grades, there seems to be less effort to provide special education services. Each campus feels almost like a different school. The school is not for everyone, but it is good if your child is an accademically strong student.
