At Walker Park Elementary School in Monroe, a challenging curriculum, fun activities and a nurturing environment help kids develop a love of learning. Home of the Eagles, Walker Park scores above average on state and national rankings, offering a traditional curriculum that gives kids a solid start in language arts, math, science and more. In addition to academics, children participate in weekly “specials” where they create masterpieces in art class, learn to play the recorder and develop an appreciation for music in music class, and get active while learning the basics of a variety of sports in physical education. Musically inclined students can also join the school chorus or participate in “WPES Idol”, a performance competition that raises funds for the school’s music program. A Learning Enrichment Academic Program (LEAP) gives students an opportunity to learn new skills after school. The program includes tutoring, field trips and other activities outside the classroom. With a well-rounded program in academics, activities and clubs, the faculty and staff at Walker Park Elementary School help develop kids for a lifetime of success.

My child has been at WPE for 2 years and we have had amazing teachers and have been really impressed with Principal Hobbs as well. We are proud of WPE and look forward to the years ahead learning and growing together.
