My experience at Ballou was very rocky at first my freshmen year I started late and it didn't feel welcoming nor peaceful. It was hard discovering who I was my first two years of high school but my dean helped and pushed me thru my 10th and 11th grade year and is continuing to push me despite my struggles and lack of motivation he made my experience 10x better. Something that can change in the school is communication with staff so everyone is on one page about how certain situations are supposed to be handled

Going to Ballou is what you would expect from a high school in southeast DC. Of course there's the lows the really low lows, but through all of that it's overall a fun experience between the band, football team, volleyball, basketball, football everyone tries to make it fun and they do a really good job

Terrible school my son was very unhappy here and I wish we never met this school everyone is ghetto and unsophisticated teachers/nurse and students. DO BETTER! Or let’s take their funding and put it in the top tier schools in dc.

4/10. Students are sweet, smart, and respectful when you get past their harsh exteriors of trauma and socio-economic hardships. Students are NOT the issue. Administration is. We need to reconstitute the administrative team instead of he teachers this time.

They are consistent and stand behind their students 100% for striving for excellence in their academic studies as well as their extra curriculum studies
