When it was founded in 1799, Georgetown Visitation became the first all-girls Catholic school on the East Coast. Today, while its stately brick buildings and beloved traditions are steeped in history, the college-preparatory school’s mission is forward-thinking. Georgetown Visitation Prep, or “Visi,” as it’s widely known, is committed to empowering the next generation of collaborative, empathetic female leaders through its academic rigors, commitment to service, faith-based approach and high-tech facilities. The private school enrolls 515 students in Grades 9-12, with an average class size of 15. Boasting a 100% college-acceptance rate, Georgetown Visitation offers 18 AP and 12 honors classes and a partnership with Georgetown University. In addition to 24 athletic teams, including softball, soccer, tennis, lacrosse, crew and swimming, there are 50 student-led clubs for honing interests ranging from journalism and Irish Dance to photography and anime. Ultimately, what unites “Visi girls” beyond academics and extracurriculars is a shared sense of community bolstered by cherished rituals like the annual Marshmallow Roast, Junior Ring Ceremony and Gold-White Weeks, nourishing friendships that thrive far past graduation day. Proud advocates of the “all-girl advantage,” Georgetown Visitation endeavors to create not only tomorrow’s leaders but also lifelong sisters.

The best part of this school is the Gold White Tradition. The worst part of this school is the diversity. I would like to see more black students

In some AP classes, you wont be ready for exams bc the teacher sucks. If you look at POC enrollment, it's kind of high for a private school, but this doesnt reflect the fact that POCs are socially excluded in every aspect. At school events, we make our own fun. Im only at visi for the college prep, but its not even that good. Only the best can make it into an Ivy or T20. To see those results most girls have to ED and getting into any competitive school RD from visi is SO hard. It is so hard to move up in math if you didn't take algebra 1 in middle school. It's almost impossible to get to AP Calc if you started in alg 1. Visi offers no summer math. You have to BEG the math head to let you take summer math outside of visi. NEVER take french 1 or 2 at visi. French 2 is THE worst class of my life. My teacher is so bad and admin WONT LISTEN. THERE ARE 2 RAT INFESTED BUILDING THAT NEED TO BE TORN DOWN. They don't even show them at open house. That should tell you enough about the buildings...

visi is a great environment where you make lasting friends and memories. While it is academically stressful and difficult it is worth it for the friends. my only suggestions are less uniform restrictions and more snow days and have a less emphasis on perfectionism and more on growth as a person. I have benefited from my experience at visi and would recommend it to many people.

If your daughter attended Visitation, she would go to one the most historic and beautiful campuses in the District. She would also be placed in the belly of the beast for DC politics and the culture wars. Far right community members push the strictest and non inclusive message of the Catholic Church...

We should have sent our daughter to Stone-Ridge where they value and respect military families. Staff and administrators at GVP do not. And for the record, we pay in full and out of pocket. Be that as it may, it’s not all bad. However, it’s important to note that their style is to maintain an elitis...

Very negative. This school talks a great game but is off the charts hypocritical. I am so so sorry we sent our daughter here. It is NOT the same Visitation from two to three generations ago.

Exceptional. We have to make a lot of financial sacrifices to afford Visi but they are well worth it. The school is NOT elitist. I found the community welcoming of even those with a more modest income like me.
