GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Most of the teachers are kind and there are a wide selection of curriculum options for students to choose from. One of the things that I don't like is that you are required to have at least six classes each semester, even if you have all of your required courses put in and you have your proper amount of graduation credits. What I would like to see change is that you shouldn't need six classes each semester if some of the classes that you take would be useless.

The teachers genuinely care about their students and the schools are continually investing in new resources. However, I wish they would invest more into AP and accelerated classes for increased college readiness.

There are some incredible students and teachers at Waverly-Shell Rock, but unfortunately, I don't feel as though I can say that about the administration. Lately, bullying has increased and the consequences have decreased. Those who are very active in sports (specifically wrestling) can get away with just about anything. While this has brought mental and occasionally physical harm to students, I know that there are teachers and classmates that I can rely on despite all of the other problems.
