GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience in Wayland Cohocton has been the greatest imaginable way to grow up in school. The vast amount of opportunity is amazing because everyone can find something to do. The best part, I must say, is the amount of care that the teachers, administrators, and counselors have. They want to see their students thrive after high school and prepare them as best as possible. One downside to Wayland is the punishment policies. I don't feel that Wayland punishes improper students well. For example, many students find ways to sneak in illegal products such as vapes and other smoking devices. They also can get away with skipping school. I feel that more punishment should be developed in order to raise the children properly. I would like to see this change so students don't feel like they can get away with everything when they enter the real world. Overall, Wayland-Cohocton has been a great way to be brought up because of the amount of care that ALL of the staff have for the students.

Wayland is a small agricultural community. The school district encompasses 6-7 towns. As a senior they have offered us a lot of college level class opportunities. I have taken advantage of this. I have enjoyed the sports we have available. The teachers and current administration makes themselves available to students who seek their advice.

There is a variety of different courses to take for all areas of interest. This school has an amazing art focus, great culinary classes, a greenhouse and so much more. It really offers so much for a public school.
