I fell in love with this school. It was definitely worth all the paperwork and the connections you make with the teachers is nothing like I have seen. They use all possibilities for every child to be successful and it felt like an honest to god place. Every student is given every possible to succeed and it is such a diverse place with people coming from way different backgrounds both economically and socially.

I am an alumni from San Jose Charter Academy, and my favorite part when attending this school was the teachers. Every teacher I have had during my time at the school, I felt were very welcoming to many students. In addition I enjoyed the diversity of students that it was like being a small community where everyone knew everybody.

Although it's been a long time since I was a student here, I have mixed feelings about the institution in its entirety. The aspect that really made the school wonderful was, and continues to be, the dedication of its teachers.

This review focuses mainly on the lottery process rather than the school teaching environment. Lottery process is unnecessary and cruel to parents. Lottery process is flawed because it is based on last name, if your last name is Z, your ticket is most likely at the bottom of the box. Overrated school. Principal was like an artist never approachable, the few times we would see her outside was to yell at someone for parking in the wrong spot. When it came down to bullying this school was no help. They are more worried about their ratings than the actual well being of the student....
