Hill Point Montessori offers an authentic Montessori education for students aged 2 through 12. The school’s philosophy is based upon Dr. Maria Montessori’s understanding of children and their natural tendencies to explore and become independent, while recognizing that all children are unique and need to learn at their own pace. Character development is a core feature of the Hill Point Montessori curriculum, with a focus on helping students develop a love of learning. The school programs are divided into three-year age groups (0 to 3, 3 to 6, 6 to 9, and 9 to 12). This creates a natural dynamic of younger children learning from their older peers and older children becoming proficient in a subject matter by teaching to younger peers. It creates a community of students who are empathetic, patient and confident.
The academic curriculum is diverse and comprehensive, and designed to build upon previous programs and skills. Students engage in practical life exercises and cultural studies along with math, language and science instruction. There is also an infant and toddler program for kids aged 6 weeks to 2 years old. Hill Point Montessori complements their academic programs with sports, music, dance, theater, enrichment activities, field trips, fall festivals and a summer camp. The staff, faculty and administrators are committed to ensuring that the students are nurtured, educated and become positive contributors to the future of the world.
