Even as a parent, I can see that the majority of teachers don't care about certain students as much as other ones. Some students are ostracized and there is severe bullying to students who may be different, shy, or seen as easy targets. Walking past certain students, I could hear the blatant racism in their conversations. It was appalling to hear and I'm very disappointed in the school for not doing anything about it.

The class sizes are VERY small and I appreciate having a closer relationship with students from other classes and teachers seem to be more involved with you. I'd like to see them move a little bit away from religion. Its WAY too emphasized and forced down your throat. Chapel is MANDATORY for students and teachers try to bring up God in every sentence, even when it's irrelevant.

I love it here at HVL, I would never transfer even if i had the choice. The class sizes are small and everyone knows everybody.

HVL has been a huge blessing to my two children (senior and freshman). Their teachers know them as immature freshmen up to maturing near-adults, guiding them as they go.
