GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I would like to see more parent involvement. More activities and better food. Sharing a school with the junior high hasn't been the best experience

Wharton High School deserves to be listed as below average, but my found attachment to it brings it to at least average. Though the academics of this school are subpar and sometimes laughable, the community is something that cannot be found at larger schools. I appreciate what the school has done in order to help me grow, whether that be simply through my hard-headed persistence or actually accredited effort of the school.

I made some great, life-long friends, and the ROAR program helped me become college-ready by sophomore year, when I took my first ever college class on the campus while also still being in high school.
