Located within a beautiful neighborhood in Woodland Hills, Calvert Charter offers technology devices, a rigorous curriculum, quality leadership, parent involvement opportunities, caring and dedicated teachers and enrichment activities. Calvert Charter ensures that the curriculum adheres to Common Core Standards and offers after-school programs in physical fitness and sports, STEM, music and homework assistance. The Gifted and Talented Programs creates high end learning opportunities for students to flourish in stimulating academic and social environments. The Multilingual & Multicultural Education Department (MMED) cultivates multilingualism by affirming cultural assets and celebrating diversity through effective teaching and learning. Calvert Charter for Enriched Studies also provides a range of programs and services to students eligible for special education. These include classes for children with autism, special day programs and programs for students with language or speech disorders. Calvert Charter values and encourages parent participation on their committees to share in the responsibility of creating a learning environment of trust and mutual respect. Advantages: Calvert is a small school compared to many other charters in the area. The campus has trees and grass, and the garden area is amazing. Calvert has three special ed teachers (K-5), so the mainstream teachers have a lot of experience with neurodiverse students. The principal is fairly new,...
