GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I would say that Yazoo City High School is not a high school that I would refer a parent to send there child. A lot can be changed such as the learning environment and the teachers.

There are plenty of extracurricular activities. The problem is the student don't try to get involved with the activities. Things would be much better if more students would get involved.

I am a 1977 graduate of Yazoo High School. My experience was very memorable. JG

I graduated YCHS in 1995. We had both great teachers and students. The teachers back then didn't put up with any BS like they do today. Also, back then the students were not nearly disrespectful as they are these days. School is everything you make of it. I really do miss being in High School again....
