My overall experience was decent I'd say, as I was only able to attend in person through my freshman and sophomore years. COVID-19 happened my junior year, and was still strong into my senior year, meaning I had to do online learning. The school was quick to take charge and settle everything to online on Zoom relatively quickly. I think they shone brightest with that when that crisis first struck, as their jump to action was very swift.

Yelm High School does a great job trying to keep students and teachers involved in many programs and activities overall, but I would say that their efforts in academics need to be improved.

My best experience was with the sports medicine program the school has. I got to go to several competitions to compete in categories such as medical terminology which included competitions that were also out of state. I also am the program's vice president so I have gotten the opportunity to experience every part of the class. My worst experience would have to be with the course conversion situation with the running start program. I had issues my junior year trying to obtain my math credits through running start and a nearby community college where my high school counselor claimed I could take a class to obtain full credit when in reality I could not and had to last minute take a separate online program and half the class in person at the high school.

The school district allows bullying, and has bullied kids themselves. As well as not respecting people's votes or voice when it comes to the levy's, or anything. Teachers frequently strike. Last year they bribed students to walk out with them with a pizza party at the city park. Not a good district...

Yelm High school has been a good place for both of my children. They school curriculum is explained well and the orientations they present each year are great to get your questions answered.

I have been super impressed with YHS’s variety of classes offered and the planning that goes into helping students prepare for post high school. There are SO many offerings that allow for students to get a glimpse/experience of what they would like to do post HS graduation. I really appreciated the...

This school will alter votes on donations and says that you choose the electives, even though they will force electives on you. the students just want to get high school done and teachers do not like their jobs. I recommend timberline or eagle view for your Child's sanity.
