GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

teachers were aight. Food was fine. School was decently sized, nice location. Only one good water fountain, the bathrooms smelled like feces sometimes but that's what they do. I personally had a tendency of vomiting in reaction to their ethnic cuisine (as they were not done well). chugmire out

I like how YHS's community is so caring and involved when it comes to students future plans. They make sure that you are not having a hard time with making plans for yourself and help you with anything you can think of.

York High School is a very good school with the resources it provides to its students, the wide variation of classes it has, the teacher who care about their students, and groups and clubs that can include anyone. The administration could use some work in listening and striving to make the improvements that they are called on to do, but in times like these (covid), they have done a great job working around everything and making their students s feel safe while learning.

A note to past reviewers: A group of teenagers who are not open to having new peers join them is called a "clique," not a "click."

Just want to congratulate the students and staff on another job well done. Once again you scored higher then the state average and many surrounding high schools on the MHA and other assessment tests given to you. This in addition to a 90+% graduation rate. Both my children went through the York scho...

The school consists of basically two types of people, the people who are bound to succeed because of their parents and sucking up, and then you have the smart ones who don't get acknowledged as they should. The schools extracurricular activities are great, yes, but that doesn't reflect the poor qual...

The only reason this school doesn't have a 5 star rating is because the people who tend to visit these sites are bitter over their experience. Sure, the school isn't perfect but it by far is one of the best schools in Maine and was recently named one of the best public high schools in the country. I...
