Residents of Webberville can enjoy expansive open spaces, family-run businesses and a strong sense of community involvement. Vast green pastures and fertile farmlands characterize this area. Webberville is conveniently located, with a roughly 30-minute drive to Lansing and just over an hour to Detroit. “The majority of residents work within a 20-to-30-mile radius of Lansing,” says Rockey. “Webberville is a stone’s throw away and we have two major highways that go east and west and north and south, which allow residents to commute very fluidly.”
Ranch styles and farmhouses in Webberville
Long stretches of grasslands and woodlands border these main thoroughfares, including Interstate 96 (I-96) and Michigan Highway 52 (M-52). Farmland encircles cozy secondary roads that display pockets of newer homes and well-kept ranch-style homes, Foursquares and farmhouses, with many homes having enclosed porches and resting on expansive lots and sprawling acreage. Because of the rural nature of the community, residents primarily rely on personal vehicles to navigate the area. During leisurely drives through the countryside, it’s common to see residences with rustic barns, dense corn fields and content cows basking in some sun, all of which serve as a warm greeting to passersby. Home prices range from $130,000 and reach up to $570,000. Large lots and acres of land are also viable purchase options, ranging from half an acre to 50 acres and costing roughly between $39,000 and up.

Residents anticipate Farmer's Field Day
The community hosts a variety of community-driven events. “Every year, the residents anticipate the Farmer’s Field Day, which happens on the fourth weekend in September,” says Rockey. “It encompasses most of the town. There’s a carnival and local artists from the greater Lansing area showcase their music and crafts.” Additionally, the Webberville Library is also host to several events throughout the year including the Holiday Hootenanny, which kicks off the end of the year holiday season with local vendors displaying hand-made crafts and sweet treats as well as live entertainment. In May, residents can participate in the Webberville Memorial Day Run, a 5k or 10k with a scenic loop course.
