Over many years, my wife and I have worked with dozens of real estate brokers and sales people in both buying and selling homes. Occasionally, we have been disappointed with someone's attention to detail or promptness but working with Chris left us impressed and delighted.

We started working with Chris in December when we found he was the listing agent for 2 condominiums we liked. We cold-called him for information. During that first call, Chris showed a very deep knowledge of the area we liked and he spent nearly 2 hours giving us a building-by-building explanation of the pros and cons of each and the likelihood of finding what we wanted. After meeting us in person, Chris intuited that we would be unlikely to find something we liked within the budget we gave him. He was right.

At the time, there were very few condos on the market in our chosen neighborhood but since Chris knew every building and every unit for sale, we were quickly able to identify one specific opportunity. With very good pricing advice from Chris, we were able to go under contract on the perfect unit.

During our inspection, the Palisades fire broke out and the whole real estate market in the area tumbled into turmoil. Thanks to Chris' sage advice, we were able to get through final contract details and the property was set for closing three months later.

Unsurprisingly, within days of waiving our conditions to close, the sellers received significantly higher offers from fire-displaced lookers. At this point, the sellers stopped communicating with us and it took enormous effort on Chris's part to get missing pieces of information.

Ultimately, our purchase closed on time aided by excellent escrow officers and assorted inspectors, a painter, an electrician and a myriad of other vendors that Chris recommended.

As anyone who has bought or sold real estate knows, brokers can be passive order takers or take-charge executives. Chris is a great example of the latter. We would choose him again...and again!

I am delighted to have the opportunity to share our personal experience with Chris Hicks, a realtor with the Agency.

My wife and I recently purchased a new condominium at Delya for our daughter, who just graduated from Pepperdine University. This was the second time Mr. Hicks represented us in a real estate transaction over the past two years. As residents of Mississippi, our daughter began her master's program at Pepperdine 2.5 years ago. Mr. Hicks was referred to us by a close personal friend who resides in Brentwood.

From the very first interaction, we found Mr. Hicks to be extremely energetic, highly personable, and possessing excellent interpersonal communication skills. As my wife and I reside in Mississippi, he was our dedicated "boots on the ground" and went above and beyond, making himself available day and night, on weekends, and meeting with contractors and inspectors on numerous occasions to ensure the successful completion of this transaction.

Furthermore, Mr. Hicks' in-depth knowledge of the market conditions was instrumental in securing a six-figure savings in the form of credits for us.

He is extremely responsive, professional and kind. He is from Santa Monica and knows LA extremely well. He went above and beyond to help us with inspections, repairs and advice.
