About Paula
The process of purchasing or selling a home should be about you. It should be fun and exciting. Ultimately, you should be comfortable and knowledgeable about how the process works
Finding someone who can accomplish these goals, be your best advocate, who will communicate with you and advise you is a critical decision in creating a wonderfully memorable experience. I would love to be that person.
Knowing what to expect is critical when selling your home – you don’t want surprises. Maximizing the preparation and marketing can significantly impact the net you receive for your home. You have the choice of how much you want to be involved, from doing everything yourself to allowing me to do it all for you. It is up to you. You choose how to expose your home, from signs, internet, lockboxes, etc.
When purchasing a home, knowing the process is especially critical. What kind of market we are in, what to expect from lenders, learning about different neighborhoods and what they offer – these are some topics you will want to know...and more! Guidance through viewing homes, writing an offer, inspections, and negotiating repairs is critical. I can guide you through the gauntlet with fun and conversation.
As a trained mediator and an ombudsman for the Sacramento Association of Realtors and the California Association of Realtors, my love of creative problem-solving is vital during negotiations. Offering alternatives in writing or responding to an offer, suggesting advantages in how you approach costs, and proposing tactics to accomplish your goals; these are my objectives for you.
I am very proud to be the Past President of the Sacramento Association of Realtors in 2014, Chair of the Sacramento Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee in 2019, 2023, and 2024, and Chair of the California Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee in 2022. I believe in doing things right. Open communication and availability day and night for all of your concerns…this is my promise to you.
On a more personal note, I am proud to be a native Sacramentan, raised in South Land Park Terrace. My husband and I married in 1979 and have three children. We have lived in Land Park since our marriage in 1979 and are fortunate to have our children and grandchildren living within 5 minutes of us. My husband and I own Dunnigan, Realtors along with our children. When not working, I love to sculpt in clay, spend time with our grandchildren, or walk our two unruly English Springers.

Paula's Reviews

We arrived in Sacramento knowing no one and without a clue as to where to live. Paula took us under her wing and patiently showed us all around Sacramento. She understood our wants, must-have's and "it would be nice" checklists. She found us the perfect home, and we have been here for almost 20 years! She continues to be a resource to us. She is smart, savvy, patient and professional - not to mention fun! These are critical characteristics of a great realtor and we recommend her without hesitation!

Paula Swayne has handled two home sales for me. Her professionalism, friendliness and good sense have demonstrated to me what a good choice I made selecting her to represent me. From recommendations on staging, pricing and handling multiple offer situations, I trusted her judgment and handling all aspects of the sale with confidence.
