High in the hills, but not too far up. There’s also Craftsmen bungalows and lots of houses from the 20s and 30s.”

Great Stoneface Park
Thousand Oak’s unique geology is on display at Great Stoneface Park, where Car-sized rocks and huge stone urns sit idly in the sun. The urns were built by the neighborhood’s developers for aesthetic purposes in the early 1900s, and only one of the originals remains – the rest were rebuilt by the community in 2011. Rookie rock climbers practice bouldering the park’s huge stones, and others just enjoy the sights and environment. Residents can also walk the Indian Trail, a stone staircase that begins at The Alameda and ascends toward Yosemite Road and Great Stoneface Park.

Ajanta is a popular Indian spot that’s received popular reviews from Zagat and the San Francisco Examiner.
