Dreamy ranch town on the edge of Littleton
Originally a ranch town, Ken Caryl is a Littleton neighborhood offering 4,800 acres of open space and 45 miles of private trails in a planned community between the Red Rock Mountains of the South Valley and downtown Denver, only 19 miles away. "That's why we moved here. A lot of the public parks and trails get crowded, so to have private trails is pretty special," says Melinda Sanders, Realtor at eXp Realty in Englewood, who has lived in Ken Caryl for over 14 years. Craftsman homes sit next to blue pine trees and growing gardens of budding lavender and reed grass, while miniature rock ravines separate the road from spacious grassy lots. Ken Caryl Avenue cuts between two towering mountains as the route extends past the hogback into the valley, a wide-open landscape in western Ken Caryl reminiscent of the English countryside. "It's one of those neighborhoods where everyone's connected. All you have to say is, 'What street are you on?' and you immediately know where they live," says Sanders. "All the streets in the valley are named after flowers and trees, and all the streets in the North Ranch are named after animals."

A lot of businesses are really great. Very few are what I would consider unsatisfactory.

As a high school student, the only jobs available are fast food and other minimum wage jobs and they are not very hard to get. A couple places are always hiring.

I only say it's okay because we have a lot of breaking and entering issues in our vehicles parked outside especially now that it is summer time again.
