Why Live in Felton
Felton is a residential pocket of Delaware folded into the dense farmland in the central part of the state. Despite its rural location, Felton is along U.S. Route 13, which provides residents with a quick drive northward to Dover or eastward to the shore. “Felton is close to Camden and close to Route 1, so for anybody that’s looking to go down to the beach or get back north, it’s a straight shot,” says Marcus Rush, an associate broker and team leader with Rush Home Team at Compass. “It’s one of the smaller areas south of Dover and kind of the suburbs of Dover. The big draw is we have a lot of retirees there and lower options in pricing.” The ranch-style homes of Felton stand sentry on suburban streets, which occupy much of the community. The Felton community is mostly residential, with many sidewalk-lined streets flanked by homes. Properties in Felton are mostly ranch-style homes, along with some colonial-style homes mixed into the landscape, primarily built in the 1990s and 2000s. “There is a lot of new construction here and new-construction neighborhoods,” Rush says. “It’s kind of a mix, but we see a lot more ranch-style homes.” Homes in Felton typically cost between $300,000
