Columbus isn't exactly for the faint of heart when it comes to the city's weather, as it is subject to hot and humid summers and cold winters. Interestingly, it is considered a 'natural snowline' due to the fact that the northern end experiences snowfall annually while the southern half tends to experience little if any. In spite of this, the city has a large number of outdoor options available to its citizens. In addition to the nearly 50 parks and four recreation centers, Columbus is also host to the massive Standing Boy Creek State Park, which offers swimming, hiking, hunting, camping, and boating. For more leisurely outdoor activity, you can spend a few hours at one of Columbus' seven golf courses.
