The area is split between residential housing and local businesses, offering locals easy access to dining and shopping along West Shaw Avenue. “The Highway City area is a small pocket,” says Angela Reid, a Realtor with London Properties, Ltd. and over 15 years of experience. “It’s close to the freeway and close to shopping in northwest Fresno or Marketplace at El Paseo.” The overall CAP Index Crime Score is 6 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4, and nearby houses of worship include Sikh Temple Association of Fresno, Central Valley Punjabi-Hindi Church and Iglesia Bautista Cristo La Roca.

Single-family homes along Route 99
Along sidewalk-lined streets dotted with palm trees, homes here are mostly late 20th-century ranch-style homes and midcentury bungalows with up to three bedrooms. These homes typically range from $150,000 to $400,000, depending on size and renovations; 6,000-square-foot lots are typical and allow for grass lawns or drought-tolerant landscaping.
