“There is a variety of different levels of homes in the area,” Bushman says. “These eclectic housing options bring the whole community together so that there is an option for everyone.” Downtown Henderson’s single-family properties may list between $200,000 and $550,000, featuring a mix of cottages and modest ranch styles from the 1940s and 1950s, as well as two-story New Traditionals built within the past two decades. Yards are usually minimally landscaped with suitable desert plants. Townhouses range from $150,000 to $350,000, with new builds from The Aqua subdivision go for around $450,000 and $500,000. “The government is also offering grants to homeowners with older homes for upkeeping,” Bushman adds.

Biscuits and Bourbon is a Southern barbeque restaurant with classics such as smoked tri-tip sandwich and candied pork belly. Juan's Flaming Fajitas & Cantina is renowned for authentic Mexican flavors and signature margaritas, and Mojave Brewing Company has many regulars vouching for its award-winning house brews, craft beer and cider selections. “The brewery also has themed nights like live music and trivia,” Bushman adds. Residents can also stop by Public Works Coffee Bar for a specialty latte, browse through the artworks displayed in City Lights Arts Gallery or play some games at Emerald Isle Casino. Albertsons, Target and Walmart are also right by the downtown area.
