Agoura Hills is best known for the Great Race, a 40-year-old springtime tradition. Participants can enroll in races spanning from 1 mile to 10 miles. Wildfire threat and crime in the Agoura Hills
Hot summers and mountain winds contribute to the fire risk in Conejo Valley. In 2018, the Woolsey Fire burned through Thousand Oaks, just five miles away. While the 2025 Palisades Fire did not spread to Agoura Hills, the air quality was significantly affected.
The Agoura Hills Police Department reported a steady uptick in violent crime, peaking in 2023. However, no homicides have been reported since 2020. Property crime dipped in 2020 but has been on the rise since 2022.
