A suburb defined by its neighbor Torrance and recreation in Alondra Park
Alondra Park, also known as El Camino Village, is a little-known South Bay community of approximately 8,300 residents. Bordering Torrance to the south, it has a similar vibe to that iconic West Coast city. “It's very much a Torrance feel without the Torrance price tag, maybe 10% more affordable,” says broker associate Randy Porizek, who works with Century 21 Union Realty Co. and has over a decade of experience in the region. “It has good elementary schools and houses similar to Torrance — in fact, the same builder did a lot of the homes. It's close to the beach, with a lot of parking,” Porizek says. Alondra Park is best known for its spacious, namesake park, anchored by a lake with an island.

Alondra Park, Bodger Park and Manhattan Beach
The crown jewel of the community, Alondra Park covers over 50 acres, making it an impressive urban green space on the area’s south side. “I grew up going to that park. It's been a staple of that immediate area for a long time,” Porizek says. “The lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the area. There are fishing derbies there and updates like a skate park and a swimming pool.” The park also offers a splash pad and a public 18-hole golf course. One of the park’s biggest annual events is Ho’olaule’a, a Hawaiian festival in July, which features hula performances and food vendors. At Bodger Park in the area’s north end, there’s a playground, picnic tables and ballfields. Only 5 miles from Manhattan Beach, the community has quick access to the Pacific Ocean, plus attractions like the Manhattan Beach Pier and the Roundhouse Aquarium.
