Home styles in Midtown and what buyers can expect to pay

Most homes in Midtown are multifamily buildings, including townhouses and condos. “You don’t have to worry about exterior maintenance. It’s all taken care of by the homeowners association,” says Janis Tolbert, a broker associate at Herrington and Company. Townhouses usually range from the low $200,000s to the upper $300,000s. HOA fees can cost up to $522 per month. You can find some pockets of single-family homes, mostly ranch-style and traditional architectural designs, on streets lined with tall pines. These typically cost between the mid-$200,000s and the low $300,000s. Midtown can be good for renters, too, with about 76% of the neighborhood’s population renting their homes.

Shopping and dining options in the community

The shops and restaurants in Midtown include a mix of chain and independent options. Large supermarkets like Walmart, Carrs and Fred Meyer are all here. Smaller options like New Sagaya Midtown Market and Natural Pantry offer organic and locally sourced food. Midtown Mall has a Nordstrom Rack and REI. The Hoarding Marmot is a locally owned outdoors store just west of the neighborhood in Spenard. There are plenty of choices for dining out as well. “The Spenard Roadhouse is a very popular restaurant that is really good,” says Kimberly Ketchum, a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Endeavor Realty. “There are quite a few popular restaurants around in Midtown." Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria is on the neighborhood’s east side, known for its innovative pies and house-brewed beer.
