Romig Middle School is a great school with a great student body and support from the community. Like all middle schools in Anchorage, however, it suffers from over emphasis on a bunch of rigid rules, some of which have virtually no point to them other than to teach kids that there are rules and that because there are rules the rules must be obeyed. the different programs at Romig are terrific: gifted, highly gifted, Russian Immersion, pre I/B (I think) alaska Native?, neighborhood. and great sports.

Romig is an awesome school. The gifted program has made me so much more confident and I have grown so much in the past year. The teachers there are all so encouraging and supportive. Thank you HG 7th grade teachers!!

The highly gifted program had a lot of wonderful features and great children. However, the homework was beyond excessive. I don't think the teachers are aware how many hours every night and every weekend a child spends doing homework.

Only the second day in with a new 7th Grader. All communications so far with office staff, counselors and teachers has been extremely helpful and positive. A Great Way to Start the New Year!!! Thanks!
