Clinton-George is a modest slice of suburbia in southern Ann Arbor, about 2 miles south of the University of Michigan. It’s named after two of its defining recreational areas: Georgetown Country Club to the northwest and Clinton Park to the southeast. “The country club is really embedded in the community, and homes wrap around the grounds,” says Georgetown Country Club General Manager Laurel Schroeder. “It’s close to key shopping areas, main roads and the highway,” adds Realtor and Michigan alum Veronica Long of Keller Williams Realty.

Nine holes of golf and other activities
Members of the Georgetown Country Club can enjoy a nine-hole executive course, a heated pool and tennis courts. A full calendar of camps and social events has helped make the country club a central community gathering spot since 1970. “In July, we have our big Ann Arbor Art Fair,” Schroeder says. “The original fair was a juried art event, so people wait anxiously with bated breath to see who can participate.” Clinton Park covers almost 5 acres along Stone School Road, bringing tennis courts, a playground and a sledding hill to the community. Clinton-George is also home to the Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor. Often referred to simply as “the J,” this facility offers kids’ programs and camps, fitness classes and arts-centered events.
