Previously a Quaker settlement, the quaint, suburban city of Archdale is tucked away in the North Carolina countryside between Randolph and Guilford County, and those same Quaker values of peace and community involvement are still kept here. “We are not as sleepy as Mayberry, but there’s still a small-town feeling here,” says Realtor and Owner of Allred Realty, Karen Allred, who has lived in the area her whole life. “People seem to be moving here for the lower tax rates and the new jobs coming to the area." A Toyota Battery Manufacturing Plant coming to nearby Liberty within the next year will bring nearly 5,000 jobs to the Archdale area. Along with its growth, the family-friendly community offers access to the outdoors and holds annual traditions.
Newly constructed homes at Rush Hollow Estates
Mid-century ranch-style homes with brick exteriors and grassy lots range from $130,000 to $250,000; roads near these homes are narrow and have lines of pine and oak trees shading front yards. Early 21st-century New Traditional homes with vinyl siding and up to four bedrooms average around $335,000. These houses sit close together on cul-de-sacs in subdivisions like Rush Hollow Estates, and well-paved sidewalks curve in front of green, manicured lawns. Allred says several newly constructed one to two-story homes are also available in Archdale and range between $350,000 and $470,000. These New Traditional style houses are located on the community's outskirts, surrounded by green forest, and have up to $40 in HOA fees.

Career training at Trinity High and beyond
“We have outstanding, safe schools in this area,” says Allred. Archdale Elementary scores an A-minus on Niche and has a student-teacher ratio of 13:1, lower than the national average. Randleman Middle achieves an overall B-minus rating, and Trinity High scores a B. Students can join multiple clubs and receive scholarships through programs like the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). Allred says there’s also opportunities to learn welding and auto mechanic trades at Randolph Community College in town.

Yearly events at Creekside Park
The 100-acre Creekside Park features 3 miles of asphalt walking trails, two playgrounds, and several basketball and tennis courts. Residents can let their furry friends roam free at the “Barkdale” dog park inside, and kids can check out books at two Little Free Libraries. Archdale Recreation Center, situated inside the park, offers youth leagues like cheerleading and basketball. Seniorcise workout classes are free for older crowds and take place in the gym, and the Senior Center is a focal point for many in the community according to Allred. Archdale is also home to Kersey Valley Attractions, which offers zip lines, laser tag and escape rooms. HauntWorld Magazine voted Kersey’s annual Halloween Spooky Woods as the number one Scream Park in America.
