Greenbriar Park, Chestnut Hills Park and Rock Springs Park
Realtor Josh Bell with Keller Williams Commercial notes, “It’s a very active community, and the area lends itself to that. There’s a lot of energy.” Greenbriar Park spans 18 acres and serves as Yorktown High School’s athletic complex. During football season, fans pack the bleachers and cheer on the Patriots, while runners take to the surrounding track on the evenings and weekends. The park also includes a lighted basketball court, three lighted baseball diamonds, tennis courts and more. Greenbriar Park bleeds into Chestnut Hills Park, separated by a thin row of trees. This park spans just over 4 acres, with a green space and educational playground where kids can learn their letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Nearby Rock Spring Park offers a more scenic outdoor experience with paved and natural wooded walkways along a flowing stream.
Early 20th-century properties and new builds
Potential homebuyers can find everything from Colonial Revivals and American Foursquares to ranch styles and split levels. Contemporary houses in New Traditional or modern styles sit alongside early 20th-century properties. Some smaller, older homes have been updated, with extensions jutting out of the back of Cape Cods and updated kitchens alongside original stone fireplaces. Single-family homes typically cost between $800,000 and $2.25 million, while the neighborhood’s few colonial-style townhouses range in price from $800,000 to $1.5 million.
The Yorktown Civic Association
Yorktown Civic Association started as a neighborhood association for Yorktown’s first subdivision, Milburn Terrace, and steadily grew over the years. The group advocates for the preservation, improvement and safety of the neighborhood. It has taken on projects such as a walk audit to examine the area's walkability and focuses on community resources like schools and parks.

Bell notes, “The area has a lot of major driving routes – George Washington Parkway, Route 66 and 395.” Commuters can also use the East Falls Church Metro station about 3 miles west to access the nation's capital via public transit. “Arlington has a lot of bike paths that support the active community there,” Bell explains. “A lot of people run from Arlington to D.C. to Georgetown.” Throughout the larger Arlington area, there are the Washington & Old Dominion, Curtis, Four Mile Run and Mount Vernon trails. And when it’s time to fly, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is about 8 miles south.Shopping and dining around Langston Boulevard
