Yorktown is about 8 miles west of Washington, D.C., and locals can get there using U.S. Interstate 66. Bell notes, “The area has a lot of major driving routes – George Washington Parkway, Route 66 and 395.” Commuters can also use the East Falls Church Metro station about 3 miles west to access the nation's capital via public transit. “Arlington has a lot of bike paths that support the active community there,” Bell explains. “A lot of people run from Arlington to D.C. to Georgetown.” Throughout the larger Arlington area, there are the Washington & Old Dominion, Curtis, Four Mile Run and Mount Vernon trails. And when it’s time to fly, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is about 8 miles south.

Commercial conveniences are clustered around Langston Boulevard.
