Established southwest Atlanta community near BeltLine
Beecher Hills is a predominantly residential area next to Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Park, one of Atlanta's largest undeveloped forests. Park trails link up with the Southwest BeltLine Connector, part of the developing Atlanta Beltline that will span 22 miles when completed in 2030. Over the past decade, the BeltLine's expansion has pushed more development into southwest Atlanta, bringing in new businesses and raising home prices. Sherry Bailey, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Atlanta who has lived nearby for over 15 years, has seen it firsthand. "I live over in Westview, and this side of town has changed a lot in the last 10 years. The BeltLine was only a glimmer of what it is now when I first moved here," she says. Beecher Hills is also just north of Cascade Heights, a historic neighborhood with popular restaurants.

Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Park spans 100 acres of hickory hardwood forests that border the neighborhood. Home to several Champion trees, some of the oldest and tallest in the city, the park is well-maintained by Friends of Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills through clean-ups, night hikes and walking groups. "The [park] is really pretty. It has a nice walking trail and picnic tables," Bailey says. The park's trail connects to the Southwest BeltLine Connector, providing easy access to nearby spots like the John A. White Golf Course, a public course with a swimming pool. Just behind it, the Joseph D. McGhee Tennis Center offers nine public tennis courts.
