Vinings
Contemporary luxury with bits of history
“Neighborhoods here are always a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Some families have been here for 60 years, and some just moved in,” says realtor Christine Bradley, who has lived in Vinings for 25 years. Among the winding streetscapes and contemporary housing, there are signs of history. Old horse trails can be found along the fences of old properties, untouched by time and development, and Civil War-era bunkers remain preserved in some neighbors’ backyards. Homes in the area consist of a mix of craftsman-style bungalows, contemporary ranches and modern manors, most sitting on plots that are typically just under an acre of land with space for robust gardens and towering trees. Townhouses in the area are priced around $400,000, while many manors can be found for around $2.5 million. Family homes of all styles can be found at prices in between.Local favorite dining at Vinings Jubilee
Among the many malls in the neighborhood, Vinings Jubilee is a local favorite. The outdoor mall plaza features several restaurants and cafes, including Read Shop, a bookshop and coffee shop combined, and SOHO Atlanta, an American-style restaurant that features two dining rooms and a mixed casual and upscale dining experience. The plaza also hosts several clothing store options, like Talbots. For groceries, Vinings has several options: Kroger sits at the south side of the neighborhood, and Cumberland Mall to the north has a Costco Wholesale.Indoor entertainment at Cobb Energy
“Vinings kind of fills the gap between Buckhead and East Cobb. We don't have city things happening in our neighborhood, but we’re not so suburban that there’s nothing to do,” says Bradley. The area has plenty of entertainment opportunities while still maintaining its relaxing atmosphere. Truist Park serves not only as a sports hub for Atlanta’s MLB team, the Braves, but also as a concert venue, hosting live shows. Down the road, locals can watch opera and ballet performances in an open and modern theater at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. For more family-friendly entertainment, Round1 Bowling & Amusement offers an arcade and bowling area.Outdoor leisure along the Chattahoochee River
Vinings has enough trees and vegetation among the shopping malls and residential areas, making it a comfortable, nature-filled environment, but there are plenty of options for outdoor recreation. Fishing along the Chattahoochee River is a favorite pastime for many locals, as are boating and kayaking. Galleria Garden features an oasis of curated garden spaces for a quiet seating area. And Cochise Club offers a membership to locals that provides access to a private pool, playground and social events.Diverse extracurriculars at Cobb County School District
Cobb Country School District is the second-largest school district in Georgia, with an overall graduation rate of 87%. The district has been named the best community for music education by the NAMM Foundation’s American Music Conference 20 times and partners with Cobb County School District Police Department to provide the school with safety and protection measures. Teasley Elementary School features a gifted program and a reading club and earns an A-minus rating on Niche.com. Campbell Middle School earns a B and features a digital learning support program and a variety of unique clubs, including a Minecraft club and a culinary club. Campbell High School earns a B-plus and offers extracurriculars of all kinds, including cultural organizations such as a Desi and Asian Club and a Black Students Association.Convenient commute along Interstate 285
Vinings is conveniently situated to access the city but is far enough away to maintain a calm atmosphere. Interstate 285 runs alongside the neighborhood and joins with Interstate 75 to the north, providing access to Atlanta within 10 miles. The main neighborhood is very car-reliant, but public transportation is still available, with plenty of bus stops along Cumberland Parkway.
