Affordable homes and new build opportunities
Minutes from the attractions that draw visitors to the city, East Augusta features wide city streets under the shadows of old-growth trees. The original home inventory is comprised of brick-front ranch-style and bungalow homes. With multiple vacant lots available for purchase, new construction Craftsman-bungalows are being built with a March 2024 completion date. Prices in East Augusta range from $42,000 to $256,000, but buyers can expect a two-bedroom bungalow to go for around $75,000, while a three-bedroom ranch-style rises to about $155,000. “The market is moving well in East Augusta. I have recently sold a home there, and the land I have for sale has received multiple inquiries already,” Williams says.
Eastview Community Center & Park
Like most Augusta neighborhoods, East Augusta benefits from a community center and park with the Eastview Community Center and Park. The park features a dirt-infield baseball and softball field, a picnic shelter surrounded by open space and a track. The community center is available for rental and provides an indoor space for gathering. Each September, Augusta hosts a 70.1-mile Ironman Triathlon, which starts in the Savannah River, and then its running and biking course loops through East Augusta. When people think of Augusta, it is usually about the Master’s, which takes place the first week of April every year. Augusta National Golf Course is just 8 miles away. With its proximity to downtown, residents can catch a show at the Miller Theatre or a concert at James Brown Arena in the city’s entertainment district, which will be renovated with a new coliseum in the coming years.
Hop onboard the Augusta Transit
Augusta Public Transit provides multiple bus lines throughout the city, including Route 3 Gold – East Augusta. The line stops throughout the neighborhood and connects to each of the other routes, including all but three at the Transfer Facility. Locals can go downtown on Sand Bar Ferry Road, which turns into Broad Street. With its northern border being the Savannah River, East Augusta has unprecedented access to the waters. Residents can book the Boathouse Community Center, with its main hall having a panoramic river view, for private parties. Minutes from downtown, locals can take a long walk or quick drive to Farmhaus Burger for a night out or try the Fox’s Lair, hidden in the basement of the Olde Town Inn. The closest grocery store option in East Augusta is the Dollar General on Broad Street. For more traditional options, residents can head west on Washington Road to find chain grocers like Fresh Market, Lidl and Kroger.
