A top-five-rated school district in Colorado
According to Niche, out of over 170 school districts in the state, the Cherry Creek School District is ranked third best in Colorado. The district receives A’s across the board from the administration to teachers and the quality of academics. Sunrise Elementary School is rated a B on Niche and has a 15-to-1 student-teacher ratio. Horizon Middle School is rated a B overall. Eaglecrest High School has a 92% graduation rate and is rated an A-minus. Students can take concurrent enrollment classes offered through the Community College of Aurora and Arapahoe Community College. Another school in the area is part of Aurora Joint School District Number 28. Aurora Frontier K-8 is a B-minus school with nearly 800 students and a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1.Close to small shopping centers
Heading west on Hampden Avenue from the Ridgeview Glen neighborhood, three small strip shopping centers may be all that’s needed to satisfy a shopping urge. A Safeway grocery store is in the shopping center near Hampden Avenue and Tower Road. Across the street is a shopping center anchored by the Movie Tavern Aurora movie theater, providing the opportunity to enjoy a meal and a show. The Seven Hills Plaza also has a Natural Grocers for a healthy grocery option. Another shopping center with a Kohl’s clothing store and a King Soopers grocery store is just west of that. Southlands Mall, with its nearly 200 stores, is a popular outdoor shopping center, and it’s just over a 10-minute drive to the southeast.Winding streets and spacious houses
The streets of Ridgeview Glen have sidewalks on either side of the road that winds through a classic subdivision. “Compared to surrounding areas, this is a relatively newer development,” says Jason Morris, a Realtor with eXp Realty with nearly 10 years of experience. “They were all built around the mid 1990s and they’re all single-family homes.” The homes are built close to each other with ranch-style and two-story homes, with the biggest lots being about a quarter of an acre. There’s a two-car attached garage and most homes have finished basements. Some are partially finished and have a walkout space. The price range is generally between $500,000 and $600,000, with 1,500 and 3,000 square feet of space. Eighty-nine percent of the people living in Ridgeview Glen are homeowners.Neighborhood park
Along Ithaca Place, there are a few parking spaces along the road close to the playground at Orange Park. The playground at the forefront of the park is between two houses on the street. Close to the playground is a paved walking trail that leads to another walking trail that can be used to walk to Sunrise Elementary School. Quincy Reservoir is a short drive southwest. “That’s mainly a fishing reservoir,” Morris says. “Grandview Dog Park is also close to the reservoir, which is very popular.” Grandview is more than five acres with a separate small dog area.
RTD bus stops
The Regional Transportation District has bus stops along Hampden Avenue. A light rail line is about seven miles west with a stop on the north/south R line at the Nine Mile station near Interstate 225. Denver International Airport is about 20 miles north. Centennial Airport is private and is located about ten miles southwest.
Military jets overhead
Ridgeview Glen is south of the Buckley Space Force Base, which started as Buckley Field in 1938 and served as a training base and an Army Air Corps Technical School. The base’s name changed in 2021 from Air Force to Space Force. The base contributes over $1 billion annually to the local economy, and those near the base can hear the presence of powerful military jets flying overhead. It’s not common, but it does result in people looking skyward at the aircraft.
