With a small network of paved trails woven between residential streets that link to Aurora’s 119-mile trail network, Spring Creek Meadows helps neighbors stay connected in the great outdoors. “It’s a popular neighborhood that was built in the 1990s as they were developing the east side of Aurora,” says Mauri Tamborra, a broker associate with RE/MAX Leaders who has sold homes in the area. According to Tamborra, the school district, Cherry Creek School District, is a huge draw — Niche considers it the No. 3 best school district in the state — as are the amenities nearby. “You can get to the trail system easily from this neighborhood, several golf courses, and also Cherry Creek State Park,” Tamborra says.

House styles in the neighborhood
Built primarily in the 1990s, most of the residences in Spring Creek Meadows are single-family homes, with some sporting vinyl siding in muted shades of green and blue. Large picture windows and multiple front gable details are common, as are spacious garages and driveways that link to sidewalks. Lots in the neighborhood have a median size of about .14 acres. “Homes on the west side are a little smaller, and properties increase in size as you head east,” says Jason Morris, Realtor for eXp Realty and host of the Living in Aurora Colorado YouTube channel. Prices in the neighborhood typically range from $475,000 to $615,000.

A neighborhood park accessible to a network of trails
Snaking beside Himalaya Street, Spring Creek babbles beside its namesake park, which stretches almost the entire length of the neighborhood. Pathways that connect to the area’s sidewalks make it easy to incorporate the park loop into morning dog walks, and a large picnic shelter provides much-needed shade on hot summer days. A second, slightly smaller picnic shelter sits beside a playscape with multiple slides and a rope climbing web, so parents can easily keep an eye on the kids as they set up lunch or a quick snack. Down the hill is a set of baseball and soccer fields that welcomes both local leagues and pick-up games. For a longer walk or bike ride, residents can continue north on the paved trail alongside the creek all the way to Central Recreation Center, one of the city’s newest rec centers. Residents looking for opportunities for watersports can find them on the Cherry Creek Reservoir, just a few miles away, in Cherry Creek State Park.

Highly-rated Cherry Creek School District schools
Students in the neighborhood attend schools in the highly sought-after Cherry Creek School District. Paved lanes meander behind homes off Jebel Way and Killarney Way, providing a quick route for kids on their way to Dakota Valley Elementary School, which maintains a grade of A-minus on Niche. Most Spring Creek Meadows residents will need a car to get around, as local public transportation does not extend to the neighborhood. E-470 is 2 miles east, providing quick access around the eastern portion of the Denver metropolitan area. From Spring Creek Meadows, downtown Aurora is about 8 miles away, and downtown Denver is about 22 miles away. The neighborhood is convenient to Buckley Air Force Base, a major employer in the area about 6 miles away. When it’s time to get out of town, Denver International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, is located within 20 miles of home.
Shopping and dining close to home
Spring Creek Meadows is in a primarily residential area, but it’s located just down the street from a shopping center that covers all the necessities. When it’s time to stock up on groceries, residents can head east down Quincy Avenue to reach Walmart Neighborhood Market, services like an animal hospital and UPS store, and a handful of fast-food restaurants. When the weather turns chilly, there’s no better spot to warm up than K+ Hotpot, which offers a dining experience unlike any other. Homeowners can join their neighbors for a communal meal of fresh veggies and meats dipped in a steaming broth, then cool off with a refreshing lychee lemonade. Venture a bit farther and make the 5-mile drive to the Southlands, a retail and entertainment destination that offers both local and chain shops and restaurants, plus an AMC Theatres movie theater.
