Buyers looking for different floor plans may also find Craftsman-inspired bungalows, ranchers or townhomes nearby, and a few condominiums. A standard three- to four-bedroom home typically sells for about $660,000, but eagle-eyed house hunters may be able to find a home in the area closer to $600,000. Buyers can expect condos and townhomes in the area to sell between $400,000 and $500,000, though inventory is limited compared to single-family homes. The area’s most lavish properties top out above the $750,000 mark, with five-bedroom layouts on lots of 5,000 square feet or more.

The Cherry Creek School District system serves public school students in the Tallgrass area. Dakota Valley Elementary offers a free preschool program for four days a week in addition to its traditional classroom settings. The school has a student-teacher ratio of 15:1 and a B-plus grade with Niche users. Sky Vista Middle School holds a B-plus rating with Niche users. Eaglecrest High School is well known for its athletics programs, with one alum from the women’s volleyball program winning a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The school earned an A-minus grade. Private education nearby includes Calvary Christian Academy for kindergarten through eighth grade students.

Neighborhood parks and wide open plains
Tallgrass residents live close to two neighborhood parks. To the north of Lehigh Avenue and Netherland Street, The Park at Tallgrass offers a playground, a picnic shelter and a small walking trail. To the south near Oxford Avenue, Tallgrass Park offers similar amenities along with a basketball court and disc golf course. Immediately north of the neighborhood, the Plains Conservation Center lets visitors experience scenic plains trails with views of bald eagles, prairie dogs, pronghorns, coyotes, and red-tailed hawks. Locals can also find replicas of local camps from the 1880s and enjoy nostalgic horse-drawn wagon rides.

Walmart Neighborhood Market offers the quickest access to everyday goods close to the southeast corner of the neighborhood. Next door, K+ Hotpot is a local standby for pho and Vietnamese selections. Residents can also find Marco’s Pizza, McDonald’s, Starbucks and Taco Bell locations nearby. Locals can find the nearest King Soopers and Safeway locations for groceries two miles northeast of the neighborhood, as well as Kohl’s, Play It Again Sports and Walgreens.

Reach the heart of Denver via Hampden Avenue
Aurora’s Tallgrass neighborhood is about 21 miles away from the central business district in Denver and 10 miles from the center of Aurora, giving residents the comfort of convenience without sacrificing privacy or style. Residents can take Hampden Avenue on the north side to reach CO-83 and Interstate 225. The nearest hospital is Centennial Hospital, 9 miles southwest of the neighborhood. Residents traveling away from the area can catch flights from Denver International Airport, 21 miles north of Tallgrass. Residents will likely have to rely on a car to travel beyond the neighborhood, as the area’s closest connections to the Regional Transportation District bus system are two miles away along South Reservoir Road.
