Legend Oaks is made up of single-family homes built throughout the 1980s and ‘90s. Ranch-style houses are common, but you’ll also see New Traditional builds with two stories. Tree-lined lots tend to be less than a quarter acre and have fenced-in backyards, with some lots backing up to a greenbelt. Inside, many homes have been updated over the years. Prices tend to range from the lower $500,000s to the mid-$800,000s, depending on size and condition. “If they’ve been well-maintained, they can be a really great move-in option,” says Nicole Marburger, an associate broker with Legacy Real Estate Group who sells homes throughout Southwest Austin. “A lot of them offer really good bones.” Monthly HOA fees are typically around $50. The median sale price falls in the lower $600,000s, lower than in Circle C Ranch and Granada Hills .

Schools are a major reason buyers choose Legend Oaks. "It feeds into some of Austin Independent School District's highest-rated schools," Marburger says. "From elementary, all the way up to high school." Assignments vary by address, but parts of the neighborhood are zoned for Mills Elementary School, Clint Small Middle School and James Bowie High School. The elementary and high schools have A ratings from Niche, while the middle school has an A-minus rating. Bowie also has a dual-credit program with Austin Community College.

The neighborhood's rec center has a pool, clubhouse, shaded playground and a court for both pickleball and tennis. It's open only to Legend Oaks residents and hosts HOA-sponsored events, including an annual Easter egg hunt and a summer barbecue. Legend Oaks is a car-dependent neighborhood, and its location between MoPac and U.S. Route 290 is a major perk for commuters. The 10-mile drive downtown typically takes 20 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is about 15 miles away. Public transit is limited to CapMetro buses along Convict Hill Road. Biking is another easy way to get around, with the Latta Branch Greenbelt leading all the way to Zilker Metropolitan Park.
