A market of townhouses, duplexes and modern single-family homes

Brick townhouses are common in the neighborhood, many set far back from the curb with paved pathways and staircases leading to covered front porches. Homebuyers can also find Cape Cods, ramblers, Traditional-style homes and brick colonial-style duplexes on the market. Homes are priced between the upper $100,000s and the lower $300,000s, varying by square footage, lot size and remodel status. “It’s a good neighborhood in terms of upkeep by the current homeowners,” says Donnell Spivey, broker and owner of Exit Spivey Professional Realty, who has sold real estate in Baltimore for 38 years. “It’s also between the county and downtown, with easy access to all the major highways. Folks really like that convenience, since most of them commute."

York Road offers spots to shop and dine

Residents often shop along York Road, a major commercial corridor in north Baltimore. York Road Plaza has a Giant for groceries, as well as fast-casual spots like Chipotle and Fortunato Brothers Pizza. York Road is also home to the Belvedere Square Market, a food hall-style shopping area. Baltimore’s public market system is the nation’s oldest, and Belvedere Square Market is among the largest of these storied institutions. Locals can grab coffee and a sandwich at Atwater’s or stock up on pantry items and glassware at The Seasoned Olive. Just across the street is Swallow at the Hollow, a neighborhood tavern known for its ghost pepper wings, cheesesteaks and draft beer.
